On a law-firm website in Romania you write the practice, the lawyers in the office, the contact details and, if you want, specialist articles. You do not write the fees charged to clients and you do not write the results from cases. At LOLOTECH, the presentation page for a law firm in Romania costs €500 + VAT, is delivered in 3–5 working days, and includes call, WhatsApp, a map, and a form. The list is on the websites page.
Where does the rule for the text on the site come from?
Law no. 51/1995, article 47, allows a lawyer’s public communication when it respects the independence, dignity, and integrity of the profession, professional secrecy, and when it is objective and true. The detail is in the Statute.
Decision no. 195 of 10–11 September 2021 of the UNBR Council repealed articles 244–250 of the Statute and introduced articles 243¹–243³ plus Annex XXXIV, the Guide of good practice on advertising by a lawyer. It was published in the Official Gazette no. 1055 of 4 November 2021. The text, checked on 22 October 2026 on legislatie.just.ro, includes the guide. Prior approval of the website’s content, from the old article 249, is not in the published text. The bar council can later require the removal of contrary wording, with reasons and after summoning the domain holder.
The code of ethics, article 20, is reproduced in the same guide. Interpretive Decision no. 125 of 13–14 December 2024 of the UNBR Council interprets points 8.2 and 8.3 of the annex. The reasoned PDF, checked on 22 October 2026 on unbr.ro, does not replace the annex.
The lines below are a reading of those published texts. They are not a ruling of the bar on your office and they do not replace the statute. You check the wording before it is published.
Identification details, when the page belongs to an SRL, sit separately: what company details a website in Romania must show. An individual law office, an associated office, and a professional civil partnership are not that SRL.
The rules for dental physicians are a different act. Do not copy them here: what a dental clinic website in Romania can say.
What can you write, in practice?
The guide, point 8.1, says that forms of practice may have their own website. The page can hold:
- the practice you carry on
- the lawyers who work in the office
- specialist articles
- notices about professional events
- contact details and how you correspond with clients
Point 4(g) puts an internet domain, a blog, and your own social page among the permitted means. The information must be faithful, objective, and true, as article 20(3) requires.
On the websites page, the product is one page: Home, Services, About, questions, Contact. You send the text. LOLOTECH delivered om-law.ro, a presentation website for a law firm, adapted for mobile, with a blog. The blog is not in the €500 page. An extra address is quoted separately: one-page vs multi-page website.
Can you put fees on the site?
Not the fees charged to clients. Article 20(6), in the form reproduced in the advertising guide, says a lawyer’s communications cannot contain the fees practiced in the relationship with clients. Point 3.1(f) forbids mentions of the value of the services or of the payment method when they breach the statute or can promote dumping.
The guide on online platforms, Annex XXXIII, has a separate sentence: on those platforms, announcing hourly rates is allowed if the rates are the same for every client. The sentence is about a platform. It is not a tariff list on your page.
The fee is set with the client, in the contract.
Can you name clients or write that you won a case?
No. Article 20(6) excludes mentions of results obtained, the identity of clients, the number of files, turnover, and the success percentage. The same paragraph excludes a guarantee of the result and comparative or denigrating mentions. Paragraph (7) says that, in promotion, the lawyer does not use the client’s notoriety.
Point 3.1(c) forbids naming clients from the portfolio and indicating litigations. Point 3.2(c) forbids promising a result that does not depend exclusively on the office.
Point 3.2(b) also has the sentence that presenting an objective achieved successfully for a client, through advice or through litigation, is not in itself a breach. The sentence does not erase article 20(6). You do not name the client, you do not post a percentage of cases won, and you do not promise the outcome.
How do you name the domain?
Point 8.2: the address cannot be formed exclusively of generic terms referring to the lawyer’s services. Generic terms are allowed only when associated with the name of the form of practice or with its initials.
Decision no. 125/2024, conclusion 1, reads the text more broadly. Any generic terms, not only those about services, sit in the domain only next to the name of the form or next to the initials. The domain cannot contain proper names that have no link with the name of the form or with its initials. In the reasoning, the examples of a purely generic address are “avocatcluj”, “avocatromania”, “avocatdivort”, and “avocat” followed by a geographic area.
Conclusion 2 applies the same association to a social page and to promotion in search engines: not generic terms alone, without the name of the form or its initials.
In the €500 + VAT, the domain and the SSL are delivered in your name. After handover, the page and the domain stay yours. Care, €29/month, is optional.
Does a Facebook page replace the site?
No. Point 8.3 allows a presentation page on social networks, with the same rules of ethics and fair competition. Decision no. 125/2024 says promotion there is not done with generic terms alone, without the name of the form.
The Facebook page belongs to the platform. The site, with the domain in your name, is where the practice, the lawyers, and the contact stay, in text. The map profile is another channel: do I need a website if I have Google Business.
Is online advice included in the €500 page?
No. Point 8.1 allows, on the website, a platform for direct legal advice, if you follow the rules of the profession. The €500 + VAT does not include that platform. It includes the call, WhatsApp, and the form.
€500 + VAT, once. 50% in advance, 50% on delivery. 3–5 working days after the advance and after your details, address, and photos. One revision round is included. The privacy policy is included. The advice platform, a shop, online booking, studio photography, and branding from scratch are not on the list. Market ranges for the presentation page are in how much a presentation website costs in Romania. A position in Google and a mention in ChatGPT are not sold with the page.
Article 243³ calls a breach of the advertising rules a disciplinary offence. The guide, point 11, calls it serious and allows the bar council to order the withdrawal, physically or online, of wording that breaches the law or the statute.

Not the fees charged to clients. Annex XXXIII allows announcing hourly rates on online platforms, if they are the same for every client. The sentence is not a tariff list on your own page.
Can you name clients or write results on the site?
No. Article 20(6) excludes results obtained, the identity of clients, the number of files, turnover, the success percentage, and a guarantee of the result. Point 3.1(c) forbids naming clients and indicating litigations. Point 3.2(b) says that presenting an objective achieved for a client is not, in itself, a breach, but it does not remove the prohibitions above.
How can you name the office’s domain?
The address cannot be made only of generic terms. Point 8.2 allows generic terms only when associated with the name of the form of practice or with its initials. Interpretive Decision no. 125 of 13–14 December 2024, checked on 22 October 2026, gives purely generic forms, of the type “avocat” and the city, as examples to avoid. The domain in the €500 + VAT offer stays in your name.
Does the page price include online advice or a place in Google?
No. €500 + VAT buys the page: call, WhatsApp, a map, a form, metadata, and Search Console, delivered in 3–5 working days. An advice platform is quoted separately. Care is €29/month, optional. A position in Google and a mention in ChatGPT are not sold with the page.
