In September 2026, a local business website should not merely “exist on Google”. It should be citable: by classic results, by Google AI Overviews, and by chats such as ChatGPT, when someone asks “who does this near me?”. According to 2026 compilations (Advanced Web Ranking / Digital Applied, summarized in April 2026), AI Overviews appear on about 48% of Google searches; for local and medical categories, industry studies report even higher rates.
If you run a clinic, an office, or a trade in Romania, your page is still where you put the facts on the table: what you do, where, how people call you. The rest — Facebook, Instagram, the Google listing — helps. It does not replace a site you own.
Why a “nice website” changed in 2026
Search is no longer only ten blue links. Google answers on the results page more often, and people ask a chat before they call. When an AI summary sits above the results, 2025–2026 studies (Seer Interactive, Ahrefs and others) show click-through to websites usually falls in the 34–61% range, depending on the query and the position.
The useful news for a small firm: the clicks that remain are, as a rule, more decided. Someone who read a summary and still taps your name wants a booking, a price, or a phone number. That is why the site must answer in the first seconds, on mobile, without sending the visitor hunting for the call button.
I will not promise you position 1 in Google, and I will not promise that ChatGPT will mention you. Nobody serious can guarantee that. I can say what the page must contain so engines — classic or answer engines — have something to extract.
What SEO, AEO and GEO mean, without agency jargon
SEO is still the work of being found: a fast page, mobile, clear titles, business details identical to Google Maps, true content.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) means writing answers an answer engine can cite: an opening sentence that says what the business is, who it is for, in which city, plus short questions and answers.
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the wider version: the same idea, applied to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and others. In practice, for a dentist in Cluj or a plumber in Brașov, all three meet in the same rules: clear text, facts, contact, no photos standing in for information.
It is not a separate trick from SEO. It is the discipline of not hiding what the business sells: the same facts, written so they can be cited.
If you want a presentation website built on these rules — one page, contact on mobile, structure for Google and for answer engines — see the local business websites offer.
What Google and ChatGPT need to see on your site
An answer engine does not “feel” the brand. It reads text. If the important information lives only in a photo, a PDF, or an animated button, for the engine it does not exist.
On a presentation page, put this in words:
- Who you are, with the real name of the firm or clinic, not only a slogan.
- What you do, as a list of services, not a poetic paragraph.
- Who it is for, including the city or area: “plumbing emergencies in Cluj-Napoca”, not “complete solutions”.
- How someone reaches you from a phone: call and WhatsApp, not only a long form.
- Where you are: address, map, hours. The same details as on the Google profile.
- Real questions: starting price, how long it takes, whether you work Saturdays, whether you take new patients.
Start the page with a 40–60 word answer. Bad example: “Welcome to our website, where excellence meets passion.” Useful example: “Physiotherapy clinic in Cluj-Napoca. Recovery after injury and back pain. Book by phone or WhatsApp, Monday–Friday.”
Then repeat the same facts in sections with question titles. Headings such as “How much is a consultation?” or “Which area do you cover?” are more useful than an empty “About us”.
What many local businesses in Romania get wrong
I see the same problems, whether the site was made in 2014 or generated yesterday with an AI builder.
Different details in three places. Facebook has one phone number, Google Maps another, the site a third, disconnected. For Google that is a trust signal gone wrong. For a chat it is a contradiction. Unify name, address and phone.
Social only. An Instagram profile looks fine until you lose the password, the account is limited, or a client wants a link to send their partner. The site on your domain stays yours.
Text hidden in templates. Website builders and “AI” themes often produce a pleasant layout and generic copy, identical to the neighbour’s. Answer engines prefer details nobody else copied: the neighbourhood, the emergency hours, what you do not do, how long a visit takes.
Nothing about mobile. “Near me” searches happen on a phone. If the number is not tappable, if the map is an image, if the page loads slowly, you lose the call — no matter how many keywords you stuffed in the footer.
Promises of position 1. Local SEO in Romania still runs on the Google profile, reviews, consistent NAP, and a site that confirms the same facts. Not on slogans.
What a website built for calls, not likes, looks like
For a clinic, a lawyer, or a trades firm, one well-written page beats five empty ones. The structure I use for LOLOTECH presentation websites:
- Home — who, what, where, call button.
- Services — a concrete list, not metaphors.
- About — short facts, not a novel biography.
- Questions — 2–4 sentence answers, also useful for FAQ schema.
- Contact — phone, WhatsApp, form, map, hours.
The €500 + VAT package also includes basic SEO metadata, submission to Google Search Console, domain + SSL (you keep the domain), and one revision round. Delivery is in 3–5 working days after the deposit and after I have your details, address and photos. It does not include a shop, online booking, or branding from scratch — those are quoted separately, so you do not pay for what you do not need.
Care maintenance, €29/month, is optional: hosting, updates, monitoring, and small text or photo edits, capped at 30 minutes per month.
What you can do this week, even if the site is old
Do not wait for a redesign to become readable.
- Open the site on a phone. Can you find the number in three seconds? If not, move it up.
- Compare name, address and phone with the Google listing. Fix the differences.
- Rewrite the first paragraph as an answer, not a slogan.
- Add 5–7 questions clients already ask you on the phone. Answer briefly, with area and hours.
- Request indexing in Search Console after changes. If you do not have Search Console, that is a sign the site was handed over as a file, not as a product.
If the current page is not worth repairing — Flash, a table instead of a layout, lorem text, a wrong phone number — a new site you own is cheaper than another year of invisibility. See what a presentation website includes and write to me if you want a concept on your firm’s facts, not a template with a logo stuck on.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need a website if I have Google Business and Facebook?
Yes. Your Google profile and social pages put you on the map and in a feed. The website is where you state what you do, how to reach you, the area you serve, and how someone can call from a phone. In 2026, Google AI and ChatGPT mostly read pages with explicit answers, not just a short listing.
What is AEO, in short?
AEO means Answer Engine Optimization: you write the site so an answer engine — Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity — can extract a clear sentence about the business, services, area, and contact. It does not replace SEO. It starts from the same thing: true content, easy to read, with business details in plain text.
What should Google and ChatGPT see on a local business website?
Legal name, address, phone, WhatsApp, hours, service area, a list of services, a short answer to what you do, frequently asked questions, and a clear contact prompt. These must be text, not only an image or a PDF.
How much does a presentation website built for 2026 cost?
At LOLOTECH, a one-page presentation website for local businesses in Romania costs €500 + VAT, delivered in 3–5 working days. It includes call/WhatsApp, Google Maps, a contact form, basic SEO metadata, Search Console, and a clear structure for Google and AI answer engines. Optional Care is €29/month.
