Schema markup, in October 2026, is the code that labels facts already written on the site: the business name, address, phone number, and hours. For a clinic or a trade, the page still has to say the same things in text. Google’s Search Central guide on optimizing for generative AI features, published on 15 May 2026, says structured data is not required for those features and that there is no special schema.org markup you need to add. The code can make you eligible for a rich result, where that type still exists. It does not sell a position, and it does not sell a mention in ChatGPT.
In SE Ranking’s analysis of 19 January 2026, about 65% of pages cited by AI Mode and 71% of pages cited by ChatGPT included structured data. The authors write that presence does not mean causation. The correlations they published sit between −0.106 and −0.025 for structural types and between +0.015 and +0.039 for Article or NewsArticle. SE Ranking calls them effectively zero. The set is theirs, from January, not a census of Romania and not a measurement from October.
The page you own, with the facts in text, is on LOLOTECH websites.
What is schema markup for a small business?
It is a standard format for telling a machine what a piece of the page means. The name is the firm’s name. The phone number is a number, written where a person can select it.
Google’s introduction to structured data, updated on 10 December 2025 and still the current page on 5 October 2026, recommends JSON-LD: a block in a script, separate from the text the customer reads. Microdata and RDFa remain supported. Google uses the markup to understand the page and, for some types, to show a rich result. The same page says the required properties are the condition for eligibility. Eligibility is the condition. Display stays with Google.
For a plumber or a clinic, the type that matters is LocalBusiness, with the most specific subtype the trade has. Article, Product, and recipes are for other pages.
Does schema markup move me up in Google or ChatGPT?
A local position depends on relevance, distance, and popularity. The frame is in local SEO for a small business. Schema is not a fourth button.
For generative features on Google, the 15 May 2026 guide is explicit: structured data is not required, there is no special “AEO” markup, and the sound practice is to keep using it inside the SEO strategy, for rich-result eligibility. ChatGPT has no field where you paste JSON and appear the next day. It needs facts it can read. The copy rules are in local business website: Google AI and ChatGPT.
The SE Ranking study of 19 January 2026 draws the same limit. Cited pages often have schema. The markup type, on its own, barely moves citation frequency. A block with a phone number that is not on the page does not repair a page with no phone number.
What should a local firm’s schema contain?
The Local Business documentation, updated on 8 September 2026, requires two properties: name and address. It recommends the telephone, with a country code, the location URL, the coordinates, and the hours (openingHoursSpecification). The days in the example use the schema.org form: Monday, not a translated weekday name.
Google asks for the most specific subtype. A clinic is a poor fit for a bare Organization label when a closer LocalBusiness subtype exists. A firm with several trades can list the types in an array. The documentation gives the example of an electrician who is also a plumber.
The review and aggregateRating properties are recommended only for sites that collect reviews about other local businesses. Your own stars, copied onto your own page, are outside that recommendation.
On the same page, Google says it does not guarantee that features which consume structured data will show. Valid markup is eligibility. Display remains their decision.
Do stars and FAQs still show as rich results?
Frequently asked questions no longer show as a rich result. The Search Central updates log, on 8 May 2026, says the FAQ rich result no longer appears in Google Search starting 7 May 2026. On 15 June 2026, Google removed the feature’s documentation, because the result is no longer shown.
Questions on the page stay useful for a person and for an engine that reads the text. FAQPage markup no longer buys the accordion in the results. The answers stay in the HTML, in view.
Stars on your own site have the same limit, still written in the documentation of 8 September 2026: review and aggregateRating, for LocalBusiness, are for whoever reviews other firms. Your ratings live on the Google profile. Asking for real reviews, without buying scores, belongs to local SEO, not to a star plugin.
Does schema replace the text on the page?
The general structured data guidelines forbid markup for content the reader of the page cannot see. Google’s example: if the JSON-LD describes a performer, the HTML body must describe that same performer. For you: if the script states a phone number, the page shows the same phone number. If the script states hours, the hours are written next to the map.
JSON-LD is invisible to the customer. The customer calls from the text and from the button. An engine that compares the two and finds two numbers sees an unreliable firm.
For a clinic or a trade with one service and one area, one page is enough: the same facts, one URL. When separate addresses are worth it: one-page vs multi-page website.
How much does a site cost when the facts are in the text?
At LOLOTECH, the presentation website on the websites page costs €500 + VAT, once. 50% in advance, 50% on delivery. 3–5 working days after the advance and after your details, address, and photos.
Included: one page with Home, Services, About, questions, and Contact, call/WhatsApp, Google Maps, a contact form, basic SEO metadata, Search Console, domain + SSL, a privacy policy, one revision round. After delivery, technical ownership transfers to you. You keep the domain. Care, €29/month, is optional: hosting, updates, monitoring, and small text or photo edits, capped at 30 minutes a month.
The package puts the facts on the page, in text you can select. It does not sell a schema plugin as position 1. Markup that contradicts the text is a problem, not a bonus. Extra routed pages, a shop, online booking, accounts, studio photography, and branding from scratch are quoted separately. Market ranges: how much a small-business website costs in 2026.
Search Console helps discovery. It does not sell a position. The price does not include position 1 in Google and does not include a mention in ChatGPT.
When should you stop adding schema?
When the name, address, phone, and hours are already in the text, identical to the Google profile, and the next step in a tutorial is “add stars so you rank”. Then the product is the page, not another block of code.
See what the presentation website includes and ask for a concept on your firm.

Which properties does Google require for a local business?
